MAAN SERIES
Each one of these pieces was originally two large bowls, wheel thrown and trimmed by hand. In the drying process one of the bowls was cut into pieces and altered to attach to the other. Together they would form unique vessels that spoke to what was happening in my life at that moment.
MAAN ONE & TWO represent a time when on the outside looking in everything seemed perfect. The bowls are smoothed out completely and covered in a matte white glaze. When you look at the bowls carefully you can see that they are warped and twisted and although they give a sense of movement and calm, also speak very much to my mental health at the time which felt twisted and explosive, and had to be put back together in the smoothest way possible.
Both pieces rested at MODU Atelier before moving to their permanent homes.
Wheel thrown with porcelain, sculpted and attached by hand, covered in a matte white glaze.
